


Application Process at The Barrett School in Destin, Florida
Enrollment for the 2026-2027 academic year is open at The Barrett School across all divisions from Pre-K4 through 12th grade. The application process is straightforward and follows four clear steps. APPLICATION PROCESS

NEXT, Our application process allows us to get to know our prospective students. We look forward to learning more about applicants so we may begin to understand their hopes, needs and reasons for choosing The Barrett School. Please be aware that the application fee is $200 per student.

ACCEPTANCE DATES
FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
Open Enrollment for the upcoming school year will begin On February 24th of 2026. We are currently accepting students for the current school year. Families accepted will have a $500 non-refundable tuition deposit and necessary paperwork to secure their space for the upcoming school year.
If no space is available, the application will be placed on the waitlist and notified once positions open within the school.
If accepted, your school contract will be emailed to you along with an invoice for the tuition deposit.

TUITION & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
An education from The Barrett School is an investment in your child’s future. We realize that education costs are a significant financial commitment and may be a challenge for some families. All admission decisions are made without regard to financial assistance. Your child must have a completed admissions application on file to begin the process.

Mid-year applications and transfer students
Barrett accepts mid-year applications across all four divisions — Early School, Lower School, Intermediate School, and Upper School. The application process for mid-year transfers follows the same four steps as a standard fall application, with the addition of a transcript review for students entering the Intermediate or Upper School. The admissions team works with each transferring family individually on course placement to ensure academic continuity from day one rather than placing a student in a seat and leaving them to catch up.

Mid-year enrollment is particularly relevant for military families and households relocating to the Destin, Fort Walton Beach, or South Walton area during the academic year. Barrett has extensive experience managing these transitions and the individual placement approach is designed specifically to make them as smooth as possible.
