The Barrett School is a private Pre-K4 through 12th grade school in Destin, Florida, designed for students who thrive in an engaging, personalized, and future-focused learning environment. At the core of our academic program is the HMH curriculum, providing a strong, structured foundation in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies. This is complemented by project-based learning, allowing students to apply concepts through real-world problem solving, collaboration, and hands-on exploration rather than passive memorization.

Class sizes at The Barrett School are intentionally small and capped at 14 students, ensuring every child receives individualized attention and meaningful teacher support. For students who need additional help, our pull-out support program is designed to close learning gaps and help students catch up academically without stigma, while maintaining confidence and momentum in the classroom.

Beyond core academics, students engage in a wide range of elective offerings that foster creativity, innovation, and self-expression. These include robotics, coding, digital media, science labs, and arts-based courses, allowing students to discover strengths and interests across disciplines.

Students have access to laptops, iPads, virtual reality systems, cameras, 3D printers, and the Adobe Creative Suite, equipping them with practical skills for both college and modern careers. Our campus also features vertical tower gardens, connecting science, sustainability, and nature-based learning in a meaningful, hands-on way.
